Lung Cancer Awareness
Lung cancer is one of the most common types of cancer in the UK, with 45,000 people diagnosed each year. It is often diagnosed at a late stage when the cancer is already advanced. However, there is evidence which shows that the earlier the condition is diagnosed, the more likely it is that the cancer can be successfully treated and the better the outcome for the patient.
Dr. Richard Booton, Clinical Director of Thoracic Oncology and Director of the Manchester Lung Health Check Programme at Manchester University Hospital NHS Trust, is a specialist and thought leader on lung cancer in the UK. He talks about the challenges and opportunities for practitioners, policy makers and every UK citizen. Watch the entire interview with Dr. Richard Booton and learn why lung cancer is such a burden in society today and how prevention could be stronger.
Is your patient unsure about the screening process? Dr. Richard Booton describes the patient experience through a CT screening.
